It’s time to Spruce Up Your Space again. This month’s theme is Coastal Cozy.  For those special outdoor cozy times, MudHoney presents the Josie Pergola Lounge.  Your choice of either the Coastal or Jungle theme – choose one or both!  This pergola seats three and includes comfortable pillows and hanging glass sconces.

The Josie Pergola is available from July 30th – July 31st, 2011 at the special price of 150L each.  Afterwards, the pergola will be available for the regular price at the MudHoney main store.  Stop by MudHoney for one or both of these pergolas for your cozy outdoor gatherings.

In June, one year had passed since moving here, creators pavillion SIM.We are going to have group exclusive hunt as a token of all of your gratitude.

1) Find the hidden each tin alphabet-letter-objects "*Y's HOUSE*".
10 alphabet-letter-objects(*-1,Y,',s【small letter】, H,O,U,S【capital letter】,E,*-2) are hidden in the area.
 *There are two kinds of asterisk("*-1" and "*-2")
 *There are two kinds of "S" (small letter"s-1" capital letter "S-2")


2)Activate group tag and touch the tin alphabet-letter-objects.

3)An alphabet shaped box will be sent to you, rez or wear it and you'll get the contents.

One thing we get complimented on at Insight Designs is the colour schemes in our textures and one of the most asked questions is how do you chose your colours? The answer is simple, everywhere!

I love  colours, playing with different palettes, mixing and contrasting styles, I have a better memory when I use colours and by far they make life more, well,  colourful :D

So that’s the idea behind our new category, Colour Insights, a look at a different colour, or theme that inspires us and to showcase content creators and interior designers in Second Life that really highlight that colour or colours and bring them to life!

First up For the Love of Yellow.

I have a love/hate relationships with yellow, at the moment it is love and I put that down to one thing…*Art Dummy! and The Yellow Chair.

It’s the kind of yellow that grabs your attention and  yet at the same time is mellow, it can take center stage or with a couple of pillows sit happily in the corner of any room.

(Note: Gala Charron of *Art Dummy does a whole range of fabulous colours but she does do a good yellow! :D)

Or golden like sunlight.

I love the soft  yellow light of a lazy afternoon.  ( and really adore the accents of teal, blues and greens in tzhangsun’s bedroom)

So is yellow a keeper? how does yellow make you feel, mellow, happy, energized?  Do you use it often or only as an accent?

 

In round 5 of Designers Challenge, in which every 2 weeks 2 home and garden designers will take the same RL picture as inspiration and create what they see in Second Life in their own way, Marcus Inkpen of the Looking Glass and Kayle Matzerath of the Garden of Dreams have chosen this intriguing picture of a fish as inspiration.

The results can be seen on friday august 5 in their shops!

Ohhi! I’m way behind on reviews. Surprise.

Andi Bovarro of [Never Trust A Pikey!] sent me a review folder last month which I’ve finally had a chance to check out. First I checked out La Vie – this is actually a little village, all self contained. It’s got a rustic french feel, something that I’ve seen pop up frequently in recent builds. It’s a really nice idea for shops.

La Vie Village includes three separate shop spaces, all fairly large. I do like the concept, and La Vie is fairly well built; as always, I would really like to see a lot more depth and shading in the textures. I enjoy the 3d touches of the sculpted ivy, and there’s a nice shadow with those:

…but the rest of the textures are pretty flat. I’d like to see a bit more architectural interest in the shops, too, and I would definitely prefer more substantial stairs.

Understanding, though, that I am supersupersuper picky when it comes to textures and details, I think La Vie would be a nice option for someone looking for a ready-made shopping village, especially if you’re working with a sky parcel. Also, it’s mod, so you can always change out the textures if you want to add some depth.

I also got to check out two of [NTAP]‘s skyboxes. These are nice basic builds, well-suited for studio or work spaces, or for those with smaller prim allowances who just want a cute little space to decorate. First is the She’s Not There skybox:

I like the little courtyard that’s included; it would be a cute little garden area. The skybox comes with or without the song lyrics sprinkled around the walls – I used the lyrics version since this is one of my favorite songs from back in the day. ♥

Next is the Paint It Black skybox — another of my favorite songs. I really like the paint job in this one – it’s all grungy and punk rock-ish and whatnot. Even better, Andi is offering this skybox as a freebie – it’s a great grab if you’re looking for a funky hideaway!
