Hey everyone!

I know it’s been a while since I closed ABODE to catch up with myself and settle a few things out of world and well,in world as well. Now, that I feel I’m in a better place. I’m happy to announce I will be bringing back ABODE for good. ABODE will be coming back with a whole new feel and a bunch of new things I’ve learned in the last few months. I look forward to sharing everything with everyone. It should be a shopping experience for everyone. Please be sure to join the hippo group or now available inworld group for opening day – I can assure its a sim you won’t want to miss.

I’d like to thank you all for being so supportive in everything I have done. I really do hope everyone not only likes my new things but enjoys the new sim as well. Sim should be done sometime in December.

As I was cleaning out my inventory I decided to retire a few pieces for good.

It’s safe to say that this is my dream bedroom. Click the picture for a better look.

Not to be cheesy, but when I see some of ARIA’s releases that I particularly like, I really wish I could live in Second Life forever.

Let’s list the things that make this so perfect – the ceiling television positioned just right for lazing around in bed, the rumpled bedcovers, my favorite b&w fabric textures, the empty canvases behind the bed, the mod sculpture, the makeup, and best of all, CLOTHES. Oh and check out the zipper on that makeup pouch!

The bed’s animations have been updated (new jumps anyone?) and you can do push-ups and sit-ups too! New rezzable props have been added as well, the “book-reading” has been replaced by “tablet-reading”, complete with sculpted ipad! You can still choose to read a newspaper. Intimate animations are also available for those of you who don’t live alone like me. HAHA I’m actually playing with the couple animations with Alan now! There are some very “casual” (not “casual sex”, but “casual”) and platonic ones, pretty romantic. There are ten categories of animations, and each category has a range of animations, so definitely something for everyone! Aww, my favorite is the “Be Together” category.

Yelo said she had to stop herself from putting even more fabric textures in the bed, so rest assured that there’s really a ton of options for her latest bed.. I favor the black and white textures most, but there are also vintage floral prints. Love love the rumpled bedspread.

In other news, we got a blog comment from a woman who wanted to buy the Salvador Black Dining Set in real life! Heh, she even left her phone number. ARIA’s sets just look so real and tempting, eh.

A gorgeous vintage bathtub with clawed feet and brass/iron pipes. Metals are texture-change if you’re picky like that, but I love the “copper” gold! You can also choose to select the “chrome” silver. Crazy attention to detail as always – the most detailed flowers in ARIA’s catalogue are included with this set, the vase of delicate purple orchids. I love the vintage feel of this bathroom!

Animations-wise, my favorite animation is the “shave legs” animation whereby the bathtub temp-rezzes an entire tray of liquid soaps and sponges in a nifty metal shelf, not to mention giving you a razor blade to shave your legs with! I think I love just standing in ARIA and playing around with the animations, always a surprise. I still really enjoy the nail-polish animation at the sink, where you are given a beautifully sculpted nail polish bottle and brush. Perfect for girls especially! (But honestly, I’d love to paint my man’s toenails black.) Don’t forget that you can also read a newspaper on the loo! Yelo has also added some new bubbles to the bathtub, try “drinking and reading” animation to rezz the bubbles!

I've got a new 60's ish inspired bedroom set out at LISP (inspired by the bedroom in the Rosemary's Baby film). Lots of texture changes in the sheets, cushions, drapes and lamps. All items are sold separately for Spruce or can be purchased at a less than half price set for this week only.

Ever since I watched this film, I wanted to have a bookcase on painted bricks behind my bed :D

Working on a collection of retro textile patterns I thought it might be interesting to show a behind the scenes, the good people over at Plurk have already had the “pleasure” of one of our more psychedelic previews :)

Ideas

Our ideas are gathered from everywhere and sometimes it starts life as a sketch or in this case as a pattern I had been thinking about for sometime.

Design

After drawing a few simple shapes in illustrator, we begin to make to play around with the shapes, strokes and start to put together a colour palette.

 

From a couple of basic shapes we can build up a set of patterns and vectors that can be used for all sorts of things.

Virginia Sofa

I used a sofa my grandma had as inspiration for this one. I was born in the 80′s, but I’m pretty sure she had this sofa much longer than that. The floral is almost so ugly that I love it. Each of the three cushions have 9 poses in them, and if you click the left arm of the sofa, you get a couple’s menu. Click on the right arm, and you’ll get some reading material. This sofa is 16 prims and is sure to make you reminisce about your grandma.

Virginia Console

My grandma didn’t have a console like this, but it seemed to fit pretty nicely with the couch, so I made it.
The console and accessories are 22 prims total (table – 9 prims, bowl – 5 prims, turntable – 8 prims).

This is one of the players for the Collabor88 event for November. It comes with several colour options, turn on/off rotating vinyl and gives out simple headphones to anyone. 3 versions included (long legs, short legs and low prim floor version).

Vintage Fair is open! I have made a sewing room which you can find there. This set features dark woods & rich tones.

Next, I released some Recycled Mantels. They come in 4 colors & are only 10 prims each.
